Life Has Been Real

Since the last time I posted, January 13th, it feels like I’ve lived a lot of my life. In my opinion, I have a good excuse for not posting in over six months. Funny enough, on January 14th I met my soulmate and since then I have enjoyed all my free time with him. We are coming up on our six month anniversary this August 4th, and I couldn’t be more happy!  I fell in love and took a break, but now I’m ready to get back into blogging.

Dylan and I are very much alike. We have similar personalities, the same goals in life, and we both love cats (more specifically, my cat). Since meeting, we brought the best out of each other and began working towards our goals. Our main goal is to travel as much as possible and to anywhere we can. So far we visited Las Vegas, for craps and a family wedding, and Los Angeles, to soak up some Vitamin D and sample the medical marijuana California is so well known for. It’s been a blast and our next trip will hopefully be to Boston. If you know me, you know I love Cheers and Frasier, and I absolutely need to go to that bar.

What else is new?

Well, since January I’ve had two jobs: one I thought I’d love but ended up hating, and one that I actually do love. I was working at a cat veterinarian as a receptionist, which was cool because… hello, cats!! I saw some of the cutest little fuzzies and wanted to pet every single one of them. However, 11 hour workdays with a 3 hour round-trip commute was not for me. Nor was being a receptionist in general, I was answering phones, not petting cats.  The euthanizing was also hard. I can’t ask someone if they’d like their kitty cremated or to take home to bury without sobbing my eyes out. I’m glad I learned though, that even though I love office supplies and filing, a job as a receptionist is definitely not for me; but, I got a new one at the grocery store across the street from my a”pod”ment as a produce clerk and I love my job now! It’s nice to have a full time job that also has a flexible enough schedule allowing me to travel.  Plus, my best experiences with customer service has been while working in grocery. I love talking with customers that are as passionate about food as I am. One time I got into a ten minute discussion about my favorite kombucha brands with a customer, and another customer gave me a recipe for her favorite fruit salad.  While I don’t see this as being a long term career for me, I do feel I’m in the right place at this time, and can always continue to strive for any career goals I have in the future.

As far as my new love and new job, there’s not too much else that’s new right now. I’ve had many fun experiences over the last six months I wish I had blogged about, but the past is over and this isn’t a diary. I’m ready to think ahead when it comes to my blog now, as I have many ideas and I’m drafting most of them already. So, if you still are interested in checking in every so often, great! If not, thats okay, too. Follow me on Instagram to stay updated.
